Jewish Family Services offers friendship – friendship to isolated older adults in the Richmond and surrounding area. The JFS Friendly Visitor (FV) and Telephone Reassurance (TR) Program consists of FV volunteers who commit to visiting older adults in their home once a week or every other week on an ongoing basis and TR volunteers who call older adults from our office every weekday morning. All JFS volunteers have a sincere interest in older adults and an appreciation for the dignity and worth of the individual.
Do you know of someone who could use our services? This free service is available to all older adults who are homebound, living alone, lonely or simply in need of a friend. Call the JFS Volunteer Resources Coordinator at 804.282.5644, ext. 244.

In addition to these programs, JFS also has volunteer openings for the following areas:
Office Assistants... make the wheels of the office
turn by helping with mass mailings, performing front desk
duties, and helping with projects.
Friendly Visitor Floaters... These volunteers are our first responders when we receive new clients. They visit unmatched clients on a weekly basis until we firm up long term friendly visitor matches. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves to interact with a variety of people.
Consultants... assist JFS leadership with decision-making.
Professionals in business, computers, law, journalism, and
other fields are encouraged to share their talents and experience
with us.
