IFS by JFS is a NORC program. NORC stands for Naturally Occurring Retirement Community-meaning, people have "aged in place" over the years in their own neighborhoods. Studies show that aging "in place" is the preferred choice. The trouble is, our bodies change with age and don’t perform as before. We may need a little extra "something" to stay home. This something may be a ride to the store or help lifting groceries out of the car. IFS is designed to provide this "extra something."

IFS by JFS is a partnership between housing management, residents, and community service providers. The program promotes successful aging and enhances the safety and well being of seniors in the community.

IFS is funded in part by the Administration on Aging and in collaboration with United Jewish Communities, Commonwealth Catholic Charities, ElderHomes, and Better Housing Coalition.
